Communicative approach

Communicative approach consists of teaching communicative skills. So the teacher has to be able to speak the target language fluently in order to facilitate communication appropriarly. The materials use for a communicative class must be real materials (realia) or models which help to created situations similar to real-life ones, in that way the student will see them involve in a real context.
Teacher´s main role is as a facilitator who monitor activities and lessons are taught in terms of funtions. The teacher emphises the use of authentic language, because the communicative competence is the desire goal.

Principles

-Language should be used as in a real context, that is, to use real life language.
-Students should use the target language to communicate
-A variety of linguistics forms are presented together.
-Students should work with grammatical features.
-Language games and activities that imply communicative interaction are perfect to incentivize students to practice.
-Fluency is considered more important than accurancy. There is a stage in the communicative prosess that students are allow to commit linguistic errors.
-Teachers should provide real situations ( situations of the social context).
-Students should assume the rol that the teacher assigned them as real. E.g: The teacher
-The teacher supervises, gives advise, and help students if they have doubts while they are working on their activities.
-Students learn grammar and vocabulary from the communicative activities they perform.
-Students should listen tapes or watch videos where they can listen real native speakers talking.

An English teacher must be a dinamic facilitator, who encourages his or her learners to acquire communicative skills which can be applied in a real context. In order to do this, the teacher has to provide students with the necessary tools and create a motivated environment where the student can feel confident and talk. For this to be applied in real life,the teacher has to:
-to give clear instructions.
-to speak aloud( use of voice).
-to correct students´errors.
-to monitor students´activities.
-to control the group.
-to have eye contact.
